The catback exhaust systems have been talked about over and over and over again. With the greddy evo exhaust the piping in 60 mm. I think this is about 2.4 inches. Somebody correctly me if i'm wrong. But anyways, some people are saying that this piping is so large and will hurt your cars performance because I don't have turbo or what not. But others are saying that you will lose a hair off low end but it will make the top end faster. I just want to know the truth. Is this going to slow down my car. Is the greddy evo a dumb exhaust to put on a d16y8 engine. Is this an upgrade from stock? I'm just sick of reading different stuff and i'm not knowing what to believe...

Dude you sound like you really want that exhaust. Don't get stuck on just one, there's a s**t load for your car. I have an APEXi N1 on my car and I love it. Not to loud at low RPM but It's addicting hearing it at 6800 RPM. Tanabe Racing Medallion is a nice exhaust, it'd just way to loud. Shop around

It's true, you lose a little bit cause the N1 is for high flow. You'll still get increased hp, just not as much as the WS with stock motor. Good news is that you''ll be set for any other mods you stick on that bad boy later and the N1 willl help out. Thing about the N1 though is that once you get all the mods done, it is loud as hell. I have a friend who has a 96 civie with turbo and the works...you can't hear the music when your in his car cuz the muffler is soo loud.

That's the first I've heard of that...maybe true I don't know. Most of the cars I've seen with turbo are loud (except for factory made), but I just assumed it was because of the big ass mufflers they had on them. I would think that it would make more noise cause your making your motor do more. My friend had a lot of engine work done too, which may have been the reason. Either that or he had a pretty shitty turbo kit.

My honda mech. told me that the more mods I add to my car the louder the muffler will get, although he didn't specifically say anything about forced induction.

I've heard that the N1 is turbo friendly though. I got the WS because I didn't want too loud a car, but heard that it's not recommended to run it with force induction, so I would have to get a new muffler to get the most out of the setup.

almost any time you have a product that adds power to the high end/focuses on high end power.. you're gonna lose some low end..and vice verca.. it's just how things work

hmmm

I was wondering if anyone here knew the theory behind why smaller piping for NA cars works better? Also, what about the stock cat? Doesn't that offer enough resistance in the right place?

the greddy piping is from 60-70mm, some parts of the piping get as big as 70mm. yes the greedy will lose the slight low end like most exhaust, but will gain high end because more air is flowing out when needed. 2.5in exhaust piping imo is the best size for n/a cars. the exhaust will not do much if you do not have a header.

The catback I'm about to put in has piping from 45mm to 60mm.
