my buddy from japan would like to sell me his 02 integra type R..problem is, im located in Los Angeles, CA.
my questions are...

anybody know what's a reasonable price to get it shipped here???
What would i have to do to be able to drive it here????
would registration hard???

anyone with information, please help me.

importing cars is a long and expensive process i suggest googling it

That's just for the tests. Shipping will be about the same.


To be able to drive it here on the roads is going to cost you thousands, close to probably 10k or even more. The car has to meet or exceed US Safety requirements, emission requirements and other things as well.

Also depending on the car, they may tell you that you need bring a second or third car for crash testing.

You'll be better off registering the car somewhere other than California.

I've seen legit JDM RHD Civic Type Rs for 15-20k, and seem some people asking as high as 25k. and I'm sure that's losing quite a bit of money on it. That gives you an idea on cost.

Uhhh. IMHO, no. Not worth it at all. Not for an integra.
