alright guys.... i have a head unit about 3 years or so old, its a sony cdx-m620.... now im trying to hook my mp3 player/psp straight into the back of it so i dont lose quality with one of the fm transmitter things....

now, i have a mini-jack --> stereo rca cables... but its not working,

i used google and came across some forums that said i had to get a XA-300, which runs for like 80-100

is there anyone out there who could help me out....

the other forums said i needed that because they arent standard rca hookups... i did read that back and it said it was "bus in" and i have no idea what that is, if anyone could get back to me, i would be very thankful....

if you wanna be realy helpful send me an AIM at screen name zzzpoohzzz

thanks for the time

How is it not working? did you select aux on your deck?

Are you sure you are plugging it into an "aux in" set of jacks on the back. You might be plugging your mp3 player into the aux output jacks. Most sony's require an adapter to change the bus cd changer jack into an rca input jack. Usually runs about $10 on ebay.

no aux inputs? I don't know how to do it.... sorry my deck has that, i think you @ least need aux inputs or an adapter, actually my alpine needed an adapter to adapt from a special plug i think for a dvd player to rca outs

if you don't have an aux mode on your headunit then your s.o.l. the bus in is only for a cd changer, the bus in is for audio from a changer, and the round plug is for the changers din cable which it gets power and commands from the headunit.

If your unit has a cd changer input then you use that as the audio in with the adapter above. Often times the "aux in" mode will be unlocked when the adapter is installed.

You'll get the same audio quality from either one. The adapter simply uses the audio pins from your cd changer port to input the music. The xa-300 is basically only for if you want to use a cd changer as well as an aux imput. You'll get cd quality sound from either one.

Personally I would just call Sony directly and ask them, thats what i did to Alpine and they gave me the part #, I then googled it and bought it offline. That way you know excatcly what you need and won't have to worry about it anymore.
