my y7 aem sri gives off high pitched noise when i accelerate. i read on other boards that adjusting the idle screw should get rid of it. anybody heard of this?
i believe its from when u accelerate the TB hasnt opened fully at low speeds therefore the lil gap in the tb sucks air in making a whistling noise. which is wut i got. i dont hear any other cars out on the street w/ the same noise.psyke_13 said:my y8 does the same thing someone once told me it was the sound of air being sucked in but still not certain what causes this i would also like to know?
yah. and it'll come on again when i hit 80 or so.Shiba-Kun said:Does it happen around 3500-4500 and sound like a sustained high pitched whistle? Does it only happen when you press on the throttle and quiets down after about 4500 or when you ease off of the throttle?![]()

I still have the origional exhaust fitted and i thought it may be caused by the fact that the engine is sucking air in faster than it is getting rid of it through the exhaust, and hence causing a whistle noise as the air gets pushed back.
