Sound like a good deal?

I checked out a black 95 EX coupe today, 98k miles, no-name intake, custom built exhaust with Flowmaster 40 series muffler, decent aftermarket rims (can't remember the brand), Falken 520 tires w/good tread left, decent CD player, Infinity tweets & ~5" in front doors, lots of rock chips on hood, but no real body damage.

New timing belt, fluids, clutch within last 10k miles. Has maintenance records.

No major probs according to carfax - it may have failed emissions once, but that looks like a misprint since it also passed on the same day.

Guy I'm buying it from is 4th owner, 19 years old. Seems to know cars, says he never really took it over 6500rpm, never raced it - but he is also building a 400cc 71 Nova. So, while the guy comes across as believable, not sure I buy that. (Not that it really matters - engine sounds good.)

He wants $5500 firm for it. (there may be some wiggle room, but not more than a couple hundred)

What do you think? A good deal? Sound sketchy? We're talking tomorrow afternoon, and I need to buy something in the next couple days, so please give lots of feedback soon! =)

Thanks for the input!

i got my 95 civic ex with 88k for 5.3k, so it seems reasonable to add a little bit on b/c of the mods ... mine came with a head unit, a six CD changer, rims and tires ... everything else was stock ... it'd be hard to tell unless you get a first-hand look at the car ...

i personally would look for a stock civic if possible,i would refrain from buying a civic that is already tricked out....although the motor may seem to be ok,you never know how he drove it and the fact that he is building a car for the purpose of speed....not a good idea IMO:D
