Speaker Dilemma

Well I was about to order 2 sets of these speakers. LINK. Until I found out that the depth is too big to fit in my door. On Crutchfield every speaker that comes up when I enter my car info, says 1-11/16", and those ones are 1-3/4" which is one 16th of an inch bigger. Will that make a difference? On Crutchfield these speakers say that they do not fit, but is there a way to make it fit? Any help is appreciated...

If I can't get these speakers ^^, would these be a great alternative? LINK. I'm looking for something on the lower price range but still packs a good punch with decent mids and lows. I have a Pro Equalizer on my headunit so I can adjust everything from Sub Bass to Super High (or something around that level). I just want a set of speakers that can play a good bass without distorting the highs and mids, I don't want that car pounding, heard across the block bass boom, or else I'd invest in a subwoofer and an amplifier.

Thanks everyone!! :D

Alright I'll go check wally world. Should I look for the 1-11/16 depth specifically?

yeah youre better off looking for the specific depth or at least not deeper than it .. you will end up having to cut the door panel a bit

Please go w/ a better brand, and those speakers WILL work. Has anyone in this thread ever pulled their door speakers? There's a s**t ton of room. I have BA's in my door that aren't 'civic specs' and I have a ton of room to spare.

OP----after re-reading your post, you want clarity coming from the fronts and bass in the rears. What's in the back dash? The speakers you're looking to get were in my car when I bought it, and no joke I threw them away instantly and installed my previous car's stereo.

I understand you're on a budget, but there are better speakers for buck, but you're also not looking at the stereo from the right aspect. The amp in your head unit doesn't do much....every after market unit has a built in amp.

If anything, skip the speakers for now and buy a cheap 4 channel amp and run the speakers directly from the amp. That way you can control your 'punch' and still have decent mid's but highs are needed too..don't forget that. An amp will also provide more clarity, and it will have you ready for a sub later on if you ever go that route.

You're not gonna get good "bass" out of a 6.5

Even the beefiest midbass will fall flat on it's face at 60hz in a door.

Very true, but I am wondering how i will have to rewire everything. Will i need components? Will i need to undo my wire harness and rewire things to the amp? The whole idea of buying an amp and running wires back and forth scares me sorta. lol. Most people say its easy but its all too confusing.

There are COUNTLESS write ups and online manuals. You just need to start READING. Stop asking questions and research. THEN come back and utilize what you've learned. Stereo install really is pretty easy. You just have to research.

learn about it all before you attempt to install... people who don't know what they're doing shouldn't mess with something as important as an electrical system... just sayin'.

and you'll get the same crap at walmart that you're looking at on amazon. the retailer doesn't make the difference, it's the speaker. those are all the same...
