Does someone make an aftermarket instrument cluster for civics that's higher quality, or can I buy one that goes to a different model car and it will still fit?

This is a very common thing to do, and if you do a search you will find alot of information on here(and other sites) reguarding cluster swaps.

If you want a drop-in cluster replacement, get another one of those Civics with tachs or the 97-01 CRV Cluster because the ones from the CRV bolt and clip right in, no need to tamper with the wiring like the ones listed below.
but with modification (mounting & wiring), you can do integra clusters, 7th gen Civic clusters, s2000 etc;

Personally, i've done the CRV cluster swap because my CRV was down and wanted a tach in my Civic; i've been seeing a lot of junked 7th gens lately and have been debating on dropping in the 7th gen cluster.
Here it is in my sedan:

Here are links I have bookmarked.
