Speedometer/mileage stopped working any ideas?

im assuming i need a new speed sensor or , maybe new wiring? is it worth getting an 80 dollar speed sensor from autozone ? and if it is the speed sensor would that relate to the mileage not working either? like is it all tied up to the speed sensor

Buy a multimeter and start troubleshooting rather than guessing.
