i have a 92 honda civic with a d15b engine.. its sputtering before the vtech cracks REALLY BAD and its pissing me off, wanna drive this car off a cliff lol there is also oil leaking from one of the bolts on my valve cover, idk if the two are part of the same problem.. at first i thought i got bad fuel with water in it and then i thought it was just mis firing (sure sounded like it at idle), but now idk wtf is wrong with it. i dont have access to a scanner so i basically gotta just figure it all out on my own.. does anyone have ne idea what it could be?? i could really use some info guys!!

Does the CEL stay on while driving? Click the CEL link in my signature.

When were the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor last replaced?

The oil leak can be fixed by removing and replacing the rubber grommets on the valve cover bolts.

Thank you :d

after checking a few sites and talking to a couple ppl they all (including u) came up with the same thing, i probably need to do my plugs, wires, cap and rotor. but i am also going to clean the two parts u have the link for on ur reply. if there is a chance cleaning them will help then it cant hurt to try right?? thanks again for ur help :D

oh and as for the leaky bolt, im just gonna do the valve cover gasket on it, im sure its due for it as i very much doubt my BF has ever done it and he doesnt know as much about mechanics as i do

A new valve cover gasket won't fix a leak from the valve cover bolts. The bolts have their own seals (=rubber grommets).

Any CEL codes?
