I'm in the middle of installing my car alarm and they have two options for the starter kill.

1) Normally Closed Starter Kill

2) Normally Open Starter Kill

Does anybody know if I have to choose one or the other or if it is specific to my civic? I'm driving a '98 Civic EX.

Responses are welcome....sooner the better.

It really depends on the alarm you are using. Most alarms have a wire that gives a negative signal when the alarm is armed. In that case, I would go with a normally closed wiring. To do that, you would hook pin 86 to ignition wire, pin 85 to the alarm negative trigger wire, 30 to one side of the starter wire, and 87a to the other side of the starter wire. When the alarm is armed, it will give the ground necessary to charge the coil in the relay which will then open the connection between pins 30 and 87a disabling the starter.
