Stereo and Digi Clock arent working

My 94 honda Civic Ex was a gift to me and when received didn't have a stereo in it. The digital dashboard clock worked when I got it as well. Bought a stereo and adapter, did everything right. I started my car and the stereo kicked on for about 10 seconds then went off. After that it hasn't worked again and everytime I start the car the digital clock is at 1:00 and is extremely dim. I checked all of the underdash fuses and they seem fine. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Fuses "seemed fine" isn't a good enough troubleshooting procedure. You need to make sure they aren't blow, just because they look alright doesn't necessarily mean they are.

If it's an aftermarket head unit, check the inline fuse or the fuse on the back of the unit as well.

Check fuses. Make sure you know how to check if they are blown. Inline fuse, fuse in back of head unit, fuse in interior fuse panel, and on some cars another fuse in engine fuse panel.

If that doesn't work, then check all the wire connections that I'm assuming you just hooked up.

If none of that works, then get back to me. And there are a million other things it could be
