If you have an EK chassis (6th gen) then you have a 1.6L.

To answer your question -- it depends. What's "cheap"? How much power are you looking to gain?

Without forced induction, it's not easy (or cheap) to get any big noticeable power gains from these cars. You can slap a cheap turbo on there for a couple hundred bucks but it probably won't last long. To have it done right and to be reliable, you need to pay to play.

General rule of thumb: Cheap, fast, reliable. You can choose two -- the third is what your car will never be.

If you're just looking for simple mods, you can go the classic I/H/E (intake, header, exhaust) route, but like I said, the power gain will be minimal.

If you have a non-Vtec head, doing a mini-me swap is a good way to get a bit of extra power without breaking the bank.

This question has been asked a bazillion and one times though, so make sure to search around - you'll definitely be able to find the information you need. :thumbs up

And welcome to ClubCivic!

Put a huge shot of nitrous. May not go far but it'll go fast ;). Seriously tho the sohc engine was engineered to run efficiently and so it takes a lot to really make it run fast from what read. I personally am saving my $$$$ for a k swap. Or maybe a b. And just enjoying the economy of my current setup
