stock gauges?

Hi,
Tonight I was test driving a 2002 Civic LX. WHat caught my eye in the web site posting was the nice looking gauges. Instead of the normal black back drop ones I have been seeing in the LX model these were a nice looking white background set. The dealer said those were stock and the car came like that. Yet...out of 20 LX's we looked at this was the first car to have them. Does anyone know, did that year come with these gauges? Special option? Or maybe someone added them after buying the car?

I have found pics of other LX's with this gauge package in them! Odd....wonder why a few have them but most we saw didnt?
