hey guys this is sort of an N/A question and a F/I question so i thought id put it in here.

hypothetically, if i were to get a stroker kit for my si to increase displacement to 1.8L, would that be safe for turbo? so im asking if the components that come with a stroker kit are all good for a turbo pressures? like the pistons, rods, sleeves, ect would they be good for high boost?
thanks for ur replies

Depends on what kit you get. All stroker kits that I've seen are forged, and are quite strong, so they would be ok for turbo. Post a link the the kit you are looking at.

instead of spending a pissload of money stroking your motor, why not just buy a gsr bottom end and bolt taht to your head and tranny?

i dont know im just doing basic reasearch right now, would that be sacrificing reliability? im sure its cheaper, but would that be able to handle high boost numbers as well?

define high boost. stock b series bottom ends, with good tuning, can easily hold 300 hp.

im still in the planning stage, im doing all my suspension first, but im still debating to go n/a all out or build the internals and turbo it.

if u go b20 bottom end u should definately get it sleeved b4 u boost it. (i have that block). LS's motors are pretty good for boost, the compression is lower than gsr and the stock internals can handle around 15 to 18psi w/ proper fuel mngmt and tunning!

well ive gotten some good info, but back to my regular question, would a stroker kit be compatible with a turbo charger, or would they not work together because of the high compression?

you can purchase those kits with a variety of compression pistons, that will work with both boost and n/a.
