Long story short.
- Car: 93 civic DX
- Most recent work: Sunroof Installed.

Problem: Alternator will not charge the battery.

Alternator is brand new.
Battery is brand new.

So now what. Besides the obvious (check the cables etc) what else can it be.
All applicable fuses and cables appear functional. All fuses test good.

I have the service manual and I've been pouring over the schematics but before i start swapping out modules and other expensive electrical parts I was wondering if anyone else has any ideas.

Well guess what...

it was the charging system fault indicator bulb on the cluster. Yup it burned out.. and apparently if its burnt out the ecu won't tell the voltage regulator in the alternator to kick on..

how about them apples.

the cluster is the standard Civic DX cluster (built in canada).
