all right here goes.

I live in North Carolina and our inspection process has recently changed for obd2 vehicles. They now plug into your obd2 port. i know they are checking for codes like CEL and O2 sensors and stuff like that. And of corse they spot check under the hood and the under carridge.

I want to eventually boost my D17 (which has been branded a Ultra Low Emmisions Vehichle.....boo, screw the enviornment...j/p) So the D17's are a lot greener than the d16's. I've asked around a little and basically what I've hear is if I have a connection for my all my sensors I'm cool.

Bascially I need st8 forward answers here....not well if you bribe the inspecter enough, blah, blah...
I've looked online and I can't find the laws for this. I don't want to spend several thousands of dollars and be told my car isn't legal. That would suck big fat dokey nuts.

So, please help me answer this question for good.

Thanks in advance.

IMO, go look up what IMO means.

Get your car smogged first, then install the kit. Smog is every 2 years right? Worse comes to worse, you can alway unbolt the kit when its smog time. This is what my friend has to do every smog season.

Best yet, get a street legal kit and you should pass.

smart ass....... :suprise:

seriously tho'. Here they hook into your OBD2 port every year at least in my county. It might be different in Mecklenburg county where Charlotte is. I know Cali where you are is who different ball of wax in regards to emissions standards.

TO stay emissions legal your best best is to get a Emissions Legel Kit. GReddy is great for that.

Probably the only thing I like about Virgnia, no emissions tests.
