Ok, well its not really a direct thing with electronics, but it has to do with a sub. In my shop class i'm looking to build a sub box for a grade, i dont have a sub nor do i have the money to get one so i'm not quite sure what sub, so its making this decidsion a lil bit harder then i'd like. I know i'm gettin one 12" Sub when i get it round, (no kicker for me). I was just wondering if anyone has just a round about size for a sub box that i could use to make. Like an average or anything, i just need to make it for a grade so nothing particular just the size and shape of the box, i looked around online for measurements but didnt find much, any help would be great.

Here, this is a difficult box to build with the port, but you could lose the port and just use the outer pieces for spec and build a sealed box, if you feel that it wouldn't be too time consuming do all of it. Hope it helps.

you dont even need an vent off the bottom, it all depends on the sub. Just build a box out of mdf and remember the dimesions you build it to so if you wanted to keep the box you could find a sub that would work good w/ the given air space

Just build a 1.25 cubic foot box and buy the 04 model kicker comp vr sub for $75 or less. Just what I would do.

Here are a couple pics of the finished box. Again, the vent is technical but it can be done granted the proper time allowed. If the vent doesn't work for you, just make the specs of piece D (piece with the sub hole) equivolent to the back piece B 14.5". Doing that would just make the box have six pieces thus sealing it.

btw, the airspace specs are as follows, Overall: 1.7cf=.6cf for vent, .1cf for sub displacement, and 1cf of box air space, unless you get a huge sub like a Brahma, W7, or RE XXX, etc... this airspace is pretty close to what most 12's call for. Hope this helps!
