Getting everything new might cost close to 600, but it depends on what you buy also.

Don't forget your going to need a good head unit and set of speakers if you wanna listen to music, not just bass.

The stuff I offered is sofar at 360 and it is new, if you need a headunit I can get that too but it would be around $400 by itself.

Add another 100 bucks for a decent capacitor, then about 100 for a decent battery. Your looking in the realm of 700 now.

Get some Memphis subs, go to sound alterations by the high school and see what kind of deals you can get there.

there are reasons why those subs/amp are that cheap. that amp is what is commonly known as a lightning amp, meaning it will only hit its peak power when struck by lightning. a good amp has high rms, usually with pioneer amps you divide max wattage by 3 and youll get the rms. no comment on pioneer subs. dont go cheap with your audio equipment, you will be dissappointed in the long run. i recommend an alpine head unit, fosgate amp, and mtx subs. i have a cda-9851alpine head unit and a 1200watt/600rms fosgate amp with 2 10'' punch p2's. this system sounds really well, would be better with a bigger box, and im upgrading to one mtx 12 7500 thunder series that will hit harder than both my 10's. my setup cost me about 1000$. moral of this setup, dont go cheap.

Uhh, Pioneer is only like half of the peak.

The 1000 hits 600 rms. 60% to peak is pretty good. Seems to be better than your 50% rockford. :/

The reason why the are so cheap is because its on ebay, the price is liek 45% of the MSRP.

i have never seen a pioneer hit 60%rms of its peak power. fosgates are by far not the best but are better than pioneer.

Pioneer rates their equipment equallying out to about 35% of its peak rating. Even their rms scale is done at 14.4 vplts and not 12. The rated output power of pioneer is very shady. But they do have decent power for the price.

The 760 watt pioneer puts out 460 watts at 14.4 volts

at 12 volts ( the true voltage of a vehicle) it puts out roughly 360 watts rms

Why $400.00?

You can get an Eclipse CD4000 for less than $350.
You can get a Pioneer DEH-P680MP for under $250 if you're queer for teh Premier

I don't know Alpine too well but I'm sure you can get more than adequate for less than $400.

Want my advise, do not waste your money with lower brands. Because that's all you'll be doing, wasting your money.
Now, in my large amount of testing and trying out different stereo equipment, this is what I've come up with so far:
My favorite decks are Alpine & Pioneer because they give you plenty of control in an easy to control fashion.
For amps, you get what you pay for...I've tested out Pioneers, Kenwoods, Jensens, Rockford, Kicker, MTX, etc. I have to respect Rockford, but MTX and Kicker have worked better for me.
Subs...what can I say....I'm a huge Kicker fan. They've always worked phenomenal for me. Runner up has to be MTX.

To sum it up, $500-600 won't get you much anything that satisfy your ears. I recommend saving up some more, say $1000-2000 and maybe try something like I did. You can check out my page on cardomain, which you can access through my profile, for details.
