I have 2 p210s4 10" fosgate subwoofers. I'm making boxes for them and would like to know how deep the box should be if the subs depth is 5.6 inches?? I'm making 2 single boxes btw. =)

This is a link to a system that calculates subwoofer enclosure volumes. For future noobs who have enough sense to use the search feature. This MAY answer your questions. CLICK ME NOOBLETS!

Thanks,
Charles ;)

Thats a problem we seem to have here. Unnecissary threads being made because new members can't search. There's even a Sticky about it! I knew that this might go other places than simply a subwoofer depth and i added the link to contribute to fixing the problem. Any more problems nooblet?

Wrong again. I challenge you to find somewhere on the site where it tells me how deep the box shuld be. All it says is it is 5.6 inches deep. Keep trying though!

you obviously are the one who can't search, since I have answered this question in like 3 seperate threads....

Go the the manufacturers website and find the model, it will give you enclosure dimensions...Usually if you buy subs brand new the reccomended dimensions are right in the book, as long as the dimensions for ported apps.

your sub is 5.6 inches deep, all you have to do is make sure it doesnt hit the other siide of the box. its the volume of air that matters, not the distance behind the subs, just make sure you have the right volume you need and that the sub doesnt hit the side of the box.

hope that helps a bit

Im just stating the obvious
good job on contributing to the thread....... :???:

i think the most important thing is to make sure the subs dont hit the back of the box. leave enough room

whoever said he anwered his own question is right. He has a link to box volume. So why would he have a question on how deep his box should be?
OK here the answer, your box can be as deep as you want it to be as long as the overall internal volume is in spec with the woofer. You can use your own link to figure out volume or
L X W X H / 1728 (- woofer displacement and any bracing bracing displacement)
Is that better?

Oh yea that is an internal measurements.
Finished box will be 1.5 inches larger edge to edge on all sides if you used the correct 3/4 inch mdf to build the box
