hey guys

i am looking to get a sub for my ride... just to add a bit of bass to my music

i have used a 15" and mono block in the past.... i sold it because it literally took up my whole trunk. now a few years later i have been missing my BASS

so my question is has anyone used those compact subs? i'm looking at either the bazooka, smaller for the trunk, or the flat ones you put under your seats. i'm not looking for a whole lot of thump (i actually always had my 15" on low setting) i just want some smooth bass.

any suggestions with experience? quality/price?

Price range is going to be a factor in selecting equipment. However, the enclosure is the most important aspect of the equation; slim woofers can be very effective, but only if they are in the correct enclosure. I'm not particularly fond of self powered setups like bazooka tubes or the basslink, but if you just want some added low end on a budget those are fine choices.

you shouldnt mess with those little subs,
I have a 12" sony xplod on mine, hits pretty hard paid $110, and doesnt take up much space

i havent heard much from the small compact subs. pioneer subs are decent depending on the quality of sub. but they make shallow mount subs, makes things pretty compact. i would look into them.

*shakes head*

ONE 15 took up your WHOLE trunk? what were you running? something that needed a huge ported box?

i have two 15s, two amps, and a battery in my trunk. i have image dynamics IDQ 15s, and two of them are in a 3ft. sealed enclosure. i have no trunk because of all the extra stuff i have in there to make it pretty... but there's no reason a single 15 needs to destroy your space.

by far my favorite woofers thus far. not cheap, though.

The tube I have heard was no bueno and I haven't heard anything good about em. If you want something clean that doesn't take a huge amount of room, get an enclosed sub. I would recommend a 12".
