So I am trying to wire my 2 pioneer premier dual voice coil subs today and went to my audio guy for him to draw up a diagram for me and this is what i got. When I took a look at the subs and box, everything wres okay except when it gets to the part where you have to wire the sub to the terminal on the inside of box. My Q logic box has a braided wire that cannot have the plus and negative lines wired to the sub as shown in the diagram. Can anyone help me? Ask me to explain my self better if needed, but keep in mind i am new to this.

Does this make any sense?

Guess not.

Oh well, I wired it and t worked.

Now if anyone could tell me how many ohms this is wired as it would be greatly appreciated.

i am confused on the wiring in the box...the diagram looks right...but what do you mean

"Q logic box has a braided wire that cannot have the plus and negative lines wired to the sub as shown in the diagram"

im not so sure on that??

Judging by that primative scribe you posted ;), I would say you are NOT running in DVC. Im not sure what the specs are for those. Check them and that will tell you. But Im very confident you are NOT running DVC as you are using 1 polarity for each to make 1 signal.

he wired your voice coils in series...dual voice coils...4 ohms each...8 ohm load to each side....

probly would have done better to wire them in parallel and made an approx 2 ohm load for each side...what size amp are you running and is it stable at 2 ohms? note: does require slightly more wire

:???: edit: i am also confused by your post...what exactly are you asking?

i think wiring it in "series" is the safest way to go also...because he's a noob...

That was weak.......

Just help the 'noob' out and tell him WHY it was done and HOW he could wire it DVC...... =)

But we need the amp specs in order to answer that I guess to see if it is 2 Ohm stable yes?

just because he didnt wire it in parallel, doesent mean hes not using a DVC...a DVC is all just what the subwoofer is.

that should help you out.
semantics. Of course its going to be a DVC sub whether or not you are using 'both voicecoils'. But he is choking the power he can get by NOT running it in DVC.....(which breaks the resitance, ohms, down...)
