Right now I have a 89 OBD0 CRX with a chipped 90-91 PM6. The chip was made using the free program Turboedit, but I am wanting to upgrade for the built ZC I will have next spring. So my question is, what would be good system to use for tuning. should I switch to Hondata, use Greddy Emanage, Apexi??? What are the strenghts/weaknesses of standalones, piggybacks, etc. I have no clue whats good when it comes to ECU tuning and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Convert to OBD1. This is the hands down winner. Way more tuning options and much better drivability.

I'm not tuning it myself and it is obviously for boost. can I stick with the PM6 when switching to OBD1?

No either get a P06 ( non-vtec) or P28 (vtec).

Eh, ricks stock block didnt blow up at 12-13psi. Sean is running strong to. Finally my old b16 has one hell of an oil leak but still screams. We all tuned them ourself

there is nothing wrong with TurboEdit, ive seen several 300+hp setups running it. but there are more "luxuries" i guess you would call them with Crome or Hondata or something along those lines, like FTS, gear correction, IAT correction, etc

but TE will work fine if you just want a good running boosted vehicle

same here, i used TE for over a year with no issues. my car ran great!

but i recently converted to obd1 and am running Crome Pro, its definately a nice program. i think the cost/benefit will be worth it when im done builing my motor and im running at the track constantly. but as i sit right now with a basic turbo kit, there really isnt much benefit

true, I guess I'm just worried, there will be a whole lot of money put into this engine and I dont want to risk hurting anything.
