Sunroof install

I decided I wanted to install a sunroof into my eg "no not to try and make it an si" just want to know what I'm getting myself into
and what sunroofs would work
and I do have the switch to open and close a sunroof it looks like next to the cruise and dimming, let me know guys

i have a sunroof in my car. I have taken in out and in multiple times, its pretty easy to do, just a few bolts and the drain plugs + wire conections. But that is for factory, does your car have all the bolts for the sunroof? or were you going to replace the whole roof w/ the sunroof option?

My car doesn't have a sunroof at all, I want to put a OEM sunroof in it like some of the hatchback models have you know

i bet you could find your year car in a junk yard that has the sunroof and take off the roof, that way you dont have to do any cutting, cuz from what i can see on mine it has to be pretty precise. then just buy or salvage a sunroof, and button and plug and play man. if you get all the original stuff i cant imagine it being very difficult. The most difficult part would be taking off/putting on the roof, but i have never done that so it might be easy, idk.

^ that sounds like a better idea to me than cutting a hole in yuor roof, because its gonna have to be pretty dead on first time frist cut. Either way will be a pretty involved project for you.

I've search for other 92 body style hatchbacks and there no where near me so I'll prolly end up using my plasma torch and cut away

its not easy to swap a roof. both front and rear windshields have to come out, grind or cut the roof off, and weld the new one on. Then you need the wiring harness, drain tubes(i thnk its 4) and all the ohter crap. its a lot of work to do a oem roof. i was going to do one before paint, its easier to just cut the hole

I say cut the roof smaller than need and go from there. I was thinking about this but I dont have the connections or the skill to hack up my roof. lol. After that might need a new roof lmao.

i am sure they make kits online, i have been doing car audio for many years, and never put a sunroof in yet, but put a roof vent on a STI similar just a smaller hole, there is about a inch of diameter that you have to play with cause of the gasket, and they come with a template you just trace out with a sharpie, just make sure you have a sharp metal blade for the jigsaw!!!!
