both of those vids are fake.
the guy used an emulator, not an Nintendo to play. When he played the emulator, he moved mario frame by frame. He saved every frame of the game, so if he made a mistake he could just go back to the previous frame and correct it. Or, in the case of the hands that come up and snatch you as you pass over the boxes, he just removed the frames of him getting snatched.
Since there are 30 frames playing per second, and the video is 11 minutes long, he went through almost 20,000 individual frames, and then the video basically played the individual frames seamlessly as thought the game were being played in real time. it took the guy 2 years to do the mario 3 video.
i imagin the mario 64 was the same way.

meh, i can see the sm3 one being fake, but they have websites dedicated to sm64 time attacks....some of those things that help them are glitches in the games....there are a bunch of others guy that do it in 18 minutes, 20 minutes....some take longer, because they try and beat the game with a certain amount of stars...
