My father is looking at Supercharging his 2000 Si, and he is curious as to how it will affect his gas mileage.

im pretty sure it eats a lot of gas, though i dont know anything about superchargers so i dont know..... time to do some reading for me, and i dont think you should do any kind of F/I if you dont really know much about it

as far as gas goes anything that makes your car go faster will eat more gas.

think of it like this , more air needs more fuel. So the mpg will go down i dont think youll have to worry with a supercharger and mpg. as long as he isnt WOT all the time then it might only go down a couple mpg.

If he's gonna drop SC $$ into the car he shouldn't be worried about gas $$

Anything that makes you car goes faster doesnt mean your gonna burn more gas. It all depends on the tune and how you drive. Im sure it might take a bit more gas for SC than TC, because of the belt driven part, but not sure. I just know i dont burn anymore gas than I used to with my TC.

Since my father doesn't have a lead foot, I think that his gas mileage will change that much. I've asked a few other people and they have said the same thing.
