Let me get this out of the way first, hi, I'm new, k, nice to meet ya. now that's done, lol, alright down to buisness, I have a 2000 EX that I want to supercharge, first question does anyone else make a charger for my car besides jackson racing? I see them for the Si everywhere but what about my EX? Also base engine work, what should I upgrade so that I don't toss a rod or anything and I want to be running 6 to 8 psi for boost. I need this engine to be fast so all the posers around here only get a good look at my ass end and I still need to drive it to work and be able to handle it after partying on the weekends, you know :beer:drink, drink, glug, glug:beer: (j/k).;) and after I get my car up to par so that I turn some heads, I will work on getting a b18c5 from japan and building that up for a race engine. But that is a ways down the road so we won't worry about that right now.

welcome to cc! im not sure about the other companies that make the SC, but remember that for the stock engine on the ex (d16y8), its not pushin alot on the belts as it is, and you know that the supercharger is belt driven, personally, i would save up an get a turbo, but thast just my opinion  remember...its not turbo lag...its foreplay

werd on the foreplay that s**t is tight, but I always heard that turbos are for the track and superchargers are for the daily driver.

swap

there are quite a few things to consider before strapping on a supercharger, and like the post mentioned, a turbo is a better bet for performance, but there are many posts on that subject. But instead of dumping the money into a supercharger and upgrades to go along with such..... and since you said you want a good daily driver, why not just get a swap , maybe a b16a2 ................ quality motor, dependable, but performance minded... lol... and u could either built the crap out of it, and turbo it, ooooooooorrrrr save like you said to buy the b18c5, just my .02 but of course this is your car not mine.......... and your choice of course.

Welcome tho!

I would turbo the ex instead of supercharge it. Turbo would take a lot less stress of the engine, as far as running the supercharge (i.e. belts).

Turbo the d, don't waste your money on the super charger for minimal gains.

Supercharge Ex Run high 15's @ 7 psi to high 14's
TurboCharged Ex Run High 14's to Low 13's @ 7 psi of boost

Turbo is better for the SOHC Engine, Supercharging is ok, if u got a built engine runing 14 PSI and a nice 100 shoot to back it up, some guy ran a 12.1 with that setup in his copue 5th gen with a d16z6

I have a 00 ex as well and I thought about supercharging it or turboing it, but I will tell ya, engine swap first....you can get just about the same horse power out of turboing your SOHC that you can from just swaping.....my 2 cents
