Hi, I need help! I have a 93 Civic DX that *had* a d15b7 with 190,000+ miles on it and was burning a ton of oil. I was looking at rebuilding that engine or swapping. For better or worse, I went swap with a jdm d15b vtec, mugen p28 obd1 ecu and si vtec engine harness from a d16z6. I'm sure some of you are lol or shaking your heads. It runs. I get 3 mpg and a constant pulsing idle. I'm thinking its in the wiring, but where? Although I was told my original engine harness would work, it was short three plugs for the vtec, which is why the si vtec harness. There is also a plug on the si engine harness that I can't find a place for on the d15b. I still have the original obd1 ecu harness hooked up to the engine harness. Is there info on the match up of p28 ecu pinouts to engine harness? And, is there anything else I've overlooked on this swap?

well you have a mugen program there is part of the reason for your shitty mpg. those things were designed for track useage, not daily driving. and its really not a mugen program cause mugen stoped making SOHC parts back in 88 or 90.

the idel could be your idle control valve or something like that i can't remeber exactly what its called, but its a commen thing for people to break. and it causes the idle surge

the fast idle thermal valve is the word your lookin for, if mugen stoped makin parts for sohc how do i have a mugen ecu, it just has to be a vtec ecu that is all, because i have a p28 mugen and i have a friend who let me use his gsr ecu mugen too we swapped ecus to see if mine and his would work in the other and guess what they did. dont know what this means but mugen ecu can be used in any vtec car
