could an engine from a 1993 honda accord EX coupe swap to a 1998 civic ex coupe? both are 5sp.

i could be misinformed, but my friend tells me that the engine from a 93 accord ex is a 150hp DOHC, which would be a jump up from the stock d-series SOHC that comes in the 98 ex. ESPECIALLY, since the engine in my civic is currently locked up, and it doesn't run at all. i dunno if i've been told right as far as the specs on the 93 accord engine, but if its right, i'd be willing to do the swap if it'd work, because i'd be able to get this engine from the accord for super cheap. anyway, could someone let me know if they think this would work? thanks alot.

as far as i know what R4B said is true in all of USA. plus you would have to deal with a OBDII to OBD1 conversion...which isnt the easiest thing to do.

i could be wrong, i but i didnt think there was an EX model in 93. the only 93 accord engine close to the 150hp i could find info on was the F22A6 rated at 140hp. getting an F in a 6th gen is possible....tho im not sure how much it would cost.

in any event...good luck.

I had a 92 ex, and it was the 140 hp engine, but in 93 they switched it to the 120 hp engine and put the 140 in the SE. I could be wrong but I think thats right. Also the f- series engine I think was a 2.2 liter so was pretty big and heavy, and no Vtec. Hope I'm right and that this helps
