here it goes guys (and gals)...

part I) 2 years ago i got an alpine deck installed where the stock radio goes (1997 EX), got the reverse harness and all that crap to keep the stock radio in the car with keyless entry, but both remotes broke, so no more keyless entry...

part II) i want to put stock radio back into stock position for purposes of looks and to gain access to the faceplate to program new remotes, i also want to put the alpine down by the cupholders... BUT, i lost my stock faceplate for the stock radio... so i bought a stock radio off of ebay (without keyless) and was planning on swapping the faceplates, but the way the faceplates connect to the radio are different?????????

part III (conclusion)) can i simply take the gray "security control unit" from my stock radio and screw it onto the other stock radio i bought and have it work? both radios are 96-98 and my stock one lights up whiteish and the one i bought suppositly lights up amber (never seen this)

you can't swap out the keyless. I've dealt with the exact thing you're talking about. the keyless is saudered into the board, and the board is sautered and rivited onto the deck casing.

ok, thought so... yeh, on my stock keyless i see the little black wire soldered to the board and wasn't sure if that had anything to do with it... thanks man
