swapping stock radios

Would the 99-00 Civic Si radio fit into a 96 civic ex? Also...would the whole climate control/radio/everything from the 99-00 si fit and wire up correctly into a 96 ex? Girlfriend just bought a 96 Civic Ex and its flawless inside but the radio volume goes down when turned up, unless turned really slow...its tricky.

I believe you can fit the 99-00 radio...you can put it behind the cupholders. i think oc_civic has his like that. As for the climate controls, i thought it would be simple but it's a major b***h to do it. Here's a how to: http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=605432. hope that helps.

holy hell i didn't know you needed ALL of that s**t behind the dash too. i thought it was just like, unplug the one, and the harnesses would just plug into the old ones and bolt it back in, and thats it. i guess i'll just buy her the radio!! lol thanks
