Hey guys,
So I've been in contact with the guy who wants to swap my charger for a stock manifold. I have the 98 EX Sedan and he has a 2000 EX Coupe. First of all, these parts are interchangeable, right?
I quoted him $800 for the charger, which I based on the fact that it was installed in '98, so it's old and also the fact that these aren't worth too much anymore.
I want to do this exchange because I really need to just replace my tranny and, based on what everyone's been telling me, I'm not gaining much at all by having this charger on here, maybe 50hp max. If I want to have performance down the road, I'm considering a turbo kit, but for now I just need to get my car running well again.
So my main question is this, how easy is it to do this swap? I'm good at turning a wrench, but obviously there are belts, tensioners, etc involved, so is it wise to attempt this? Or should I hold off and fix my car first? The catch is that I could really use this cash towards my current repair. Is it a simple manifold switch, or are there other parts that will need to be switched out?
Any information on this would be most appreciated! Looking to do this as soon as tomorrow. Thank you!
