Swaybar question?

So my swaybar is rotted off at one of the ends. If I got an aftermarket front sway bar, would it have different mounting points from the oem one?

If so, I would just be able to scrap the old one and the mounting points, correct? Just bolt on the new one?

Any help would be much appreciated.

An aftermarket one will fit your car, as long as its for your year make and model

yes, but given that the oem mounting point is rotted out, would an aftermarket one have different mounting points?

Probably re-uses stock mounting points.

If your aftermarket mounting braket points are rotted out, I wouldn't advise mounting a larger aftermarket one there without reinforcement. I highly recommend purchasing a subframe reinforcement brace like the asr or function 7 brace, the. You can mount either the asr 24mm rear or civic/integra type r rear sway and will be a direct bolt on.

Also would be a good time to upgrade the endlinks, if your not running aftermarket lca's (wich you wouldn't need to unless your bushings are worn out) I would reccomend function 7 or anything with urethane bushings, because the mounting hardware doesn't need to be tourqed when under load from the vehicle since the spin fee inside the arm like a bearing. The rubber ones will bind and cause premature wearing.

If you decide to use a different brand sway bar with an asr brace, you can always purchase energy suspension universal d brackets fitted to the size of the sway bar you purchased. They have slotted mounting points to work with most mounting locations.

If you decide to use function 7 aftermarket lca's, only a heim style endlink will work with mounting he swaybar, due to the fact the arm is thicker than other lca's and there won't be enough thread for 96-00 oem (style) endlinks to Tourqe the bolts on properly. Asr or blox unites will work fine, function 7 offers these also but at a much higher price for essentially the same thing. They tend to wear out faster since the joint is exposed to the elements, but should be fine with proper maintenance. Also if you decide to use an integra bar, you will need the asr adapter washers wich can be purchased on the asr website or weaksauce site. :D

^ that's all assuming he's talking about the rear bar.

OP, which bar is it, from or rear? What do you mean by rotted at the ends? The endlinks? The swaybar itself? The subframe? The brackets? Bushings?

Ha!!!! He's talking about the front... I read mounting point, and totally went on a tangent. I don't see how the front lca's would rot out though, unless he's referring to the swaybar ends.
