Switching out foot pedals?

hi, i am wanting to buy some new foot pedals for my 1991 Honda civic, and was wondering how hard is this to switch them out? and also, re foot pedals universal, like can any pedals i buy work on my car? and if someone can explain on how to exactly switch the pedals out, i would greatly appreciate it

You mean the cheap aftermarket covers that go on top of the rubber or the whole pedal? If you are talking the whole pedal, there is quite a bit into switching them to a different style. They are part of an assembly and some actually need welded together.

If you are talking about the cover, they are very easy and are kind of idiot proof to put on. Most come with instructions.

when i did mine, i took off the old covers. the kit that i bought came with a lame attachment system so i modified them by drilling holes in the foot pedals and using bolts to hold them on. with a little mechanical knowledge you will be fine.

Yea, the rubber just came off of my brake pedal the other day... feels kinda risky hittin' that s**t with no rubber!

I have no rubber on mine. Took it off a long time ago and skate board tape went in their place (got the idea from one of our member's old cars). Works great.

I also drilled holes on mine lol,I first installed them with the double sided tape that came with it but they fell off the next day...but with the bolts holding them I haven't had any problems

The best pedal covers i have found were from strut king. They look just like the Civic Type R X (just like the s2000 or honda fit sport pedals) and a relatively cheap. I got the whole set including the foot rest. Best set for the money.
