Yep, I'm another statistic...the most unlikely spot (my driveway) in a nice quiet neighborhood... by far LOWEST crime rate in the area... I awaken to "IT'S GONE!!" a few mornings ago... well luckily it wasn't all gone some lucky f**ks made off with my subs, my radar detector, my remote (buttons wore off the deckk so I needed that!!!!.... bastards), and a carton of cigarettes.... Thank god they didn't get the rest...something must've scared them off... oh well... my bad for not having an alarm I guess... (viper 5000, and power door locks this weekend =) YAY! )
The real kicker is that I just gutted the car and did a beyond professional install on the car in my time off work over a ummm I'd say 10 day period and I didn't even get to enjoy the s**t for more than 48 hours... You live and you lean I guess....

Any way here's my old setup (I'm no audio genius...lol)

Headunit: Pioneer DEH-P8000R

Front Doors: Sony Explode 4 way componets
Rear: Some old school 6x9 Boston Acoustics
Subs: A pair of Rockford Fostgate P2 12" punch (8 ohm, 4 ohm stable) in seperate ported enclosures

Front Amp: Kicker Impulse IX252
Rear Amp: SP2X-300 Power Acoustik Sapphire
Sub Amp: Rockford Fosgate P-3001

Okay now.. I kinda know what I want, but I don't know the best way to set it up or exactly...

1- 12' (JL?)
2 - 8' (No idea...kicker maybe?)
Front=okay as is?
Rear=okay as is?

And the amps I have no idea where to start... I'd like to keep everything powered individually for maximun control... but a problem I see is with three subs how can I get them to the deck? The deck has the usual 3 preouts) Like I said...I can wire and stuff but when it comes to knowing how to ideally setup a system or where to start with all the choices...it's beyond me.

The type of sound I'm looking for is probably a little a more more punchy Bass than normal...I listen to a lot of electronica... I figured the 2 8's paired eith one 12 would give me plently punch and still get the deep wahhh....espically if I go with a JL...

Well I know it's a lot of garble....but I'm mostly typing in frustration after getting my s**t jacked...any help would be appreciated...opinions and whatnot.... and any ways to egronomically hook something of this nature up would also be appreciated.... Thanks!

Oh and I'm looking for tight good sounding clean bass...I'm not into thumping and all that crap... or booming at a light....loud is is good....but worthless if it sounds like s**t.... so I'm not trying to set any DB records...(unless it sounds GREAT at the same time ;)) Lets just say if I could afford it Alpines F1 style....lol....

Just thought I'd throw that in....Help me out guys! (and gals =))

Well I ended up going with the viper 5000 I like it.. it seems really expandable...

got my friend a new pair of 12'' stage 2 punch rockfords and we put them back in...everythings back now one of the damn amps wont work right dirty as f**k... I'm just gonna go get a new one soon....I'd like to revamp the whole system like I mentioned before... Still looking for some suggestions... mainly how a 12/10" W7 would sound paired with two eights (brands?) Like I've said a couple times looking for some punch outta the eights...

personally, if your planning to get a new system, build it arround your head unit. Did they make off with your headunit? if not, then yeah, get a good powering amp for either a pair of 12" alpine type Rs or just one will do in a hatch. Those subs give off smooth clean bass, and hit pritty hard if powered right. Alpine tends to be underrated so you can usually push more rms than what is listed. I am currently running 1 12" type R and its good enough for me, im looking for a better amp. As for speakers, i went with pioneer 3 ways all arround, which keep me real happy. I plan to eventually amp the speakers, but i think i want a better amp for my type R first. Thats definately the way to go, especially if you're on a tight budget.
