Hey guys i have a 95 DX coupe so of course it doesnt have a tach. i bought a 3.5" sunpro and am planning on installing it on the pillar between the windshield and driver's door. Couple of questions:
1) Is it safe to drill pilot holes into that pillar?

2) Will the pillar be able to support the weight of my tach?

3) Will i get any rattles as a result of the new weight on the pillar?

Let me know what u think! Thanks in advance!

dont mount it on the pillar, mount it right between your guage cluster and the window where you mostly see them, its in easy sight and youll have better stability

thats where I have mine...what i did was that i put the tach where i wanted it, then marked where the bracket was...removed that pillar, drilled the holes, mounted bracket and then put the pillar back on the car and then mount the tach to the bracket. took about a half hour.

It's not soo bad. I eventually drilled my pillar. Because if I wanted to "undo" what I did, then I'll pick another up at a junk yard. I just can't figure out where I want to mount my shift light. I dont really want to drill a hole in my dash...*scratches head*

Here's what I did

^for me thatd be too far over:what: but you like it there thats cool, and sense you already have that mounted id put your shift light where 4gcivic69 has his tach

edt: actually now looking at your tach i dunno if itd fit there, maybe a little to the right of the tach?

Just get an EX cluster...way cleaner with it built into the Cluster. Tachs FTMFL.

The visibility aint soo bad. I'll take more pictures of my installation later. People have other (3) gauges on the side pillar anyways

yeh but the guages you put up on the pillar dont really need to be viewed as much as a tach (I have air/fuel, volts, and vacuum) - but in some ways you do have a point
