tach problems

hi my uncle has a 95 civic dx hatch and he got a tach and we went to put it in and he is not gettin any signal from the blue tach wire up by the fire wall. i have a 94 civic dx coupe and last week i hooked up a tach and had no problems with it. he hooked his up the same way and got nothin. we hooked is wires up to my tach and again nothin just lights up. so there is a connector on the dist. that has two wires a blue and yellow and black. we hooked it to the blue wire there and nothin you have any ideas as to why were not gettin signal thanks

is it a new tach or a used tach?

it's a new tach sunpro from autozone

try tapping into the yellow/green wire on the distributor. (yellow wire with green stripe, or green wire with yellow stripe, can't remember) thats what i use for signal to my tach. thats the negative for your coil
