you can do it yourself. why pay if you can learn?

theres usually 4 wires. pos/neg/illumination/coil

pos=can go to the fuse panel located under drivers oh dashboard.

neg=can go to any screw/bolt that attaches to the frame of the car

illumination=i hooked mines up to my dimmer switch on the dashboard

coil=run the wire threw the firewall to the negitive side (solid blue i believe) of the coil. theres only 2 wires.(coils located rite next to the distibutor..distibutor=the place your spark plug wires go to. the distributor is connected to the coil by a spark plug wire)

after you hook pos/neg/coil wires it should work.

anyone of you guys know about the difference though in readouts between the aftermarket and the OEM gauge? for instance how much of a difference should there be. my oem dash is a 92 hatchback but my motor is a b18c1. so the redline is different, but theres a difference between readouts from my oem gauge and my aftermarket tach. If i wire the coil to where xxsenceo89x said to, should the readouts be alot closer? i have it wired to sumwhere else right now and the aftermarker gauge is about 1k less then the oem.

oem = 5000
aftermarket = 4000

well my car dont have a dimmer, uk.
So, you're saying if you turn the head lights on at night your interior lights don't get dimmer?

If thats the case just wire the dimmer wire to a constant power.

the dimmer switch should be down to your left below your left air vent... mines always plop right above my left knee...
in terms of wiring, there are a lotta threads on this already but basically find the tach check in the upper corner of the engine bay, near the windshield, on the driver's side of a USDM civic its there... the tach check and the coil wires are both blue, sometimes blue with a white or black stripe i believe but your GREEN tach signal wire goes there, i would crimp the two together with a butt connector and not just electrical tape the s**t outta it b/c i did that and it caused my stock tach to operate spuratically... turned out it was a short somewhere? the RED wire for 12V power can be wired to your fuse box *underneath the dash on a USDM, im not familiar with cars from the UK, but it can be wired for 12V ignition there... I just wired mine to my ignition source where my head unit is wired to (a red wire as well), illumination WHITE wire to dimmer switch, and ground to a reliable chassis ground source. Shouldnt be that hard man, just find where all these things would be on your car thats on ours but it shouldnt be that diferent.

I just removed my 5" tach because it was extremely pointless with a stock engine and like 100 horsepower :what:...... i would just go for a lil tach without a shift light if i had to do it again.. GL on the install =)
