I installed a GSR cluster a month or 2 ago, and my temp wire wasn't long enough to reach the plug. I spliced the wire and extended it, but now the gauage needle only moves a tiny bit and does not work. Do you think if I solider the wire it will work properly? I twisted them together tight.

I am cheap, and in need of tools. But you think that is the problem?

i am not exactly sure how the temp guage works but but connectors are like pennies. I would but connect them and see if it fixes the proble then go from their. Did you use the same size wire also? It might work off of resistance I am not all that familier how temp guages work but you have so many unknowns right now its hard to narrow it down.

Yup, same wire, I cut a wire that wasn't being used and uused that for the temp gauage. I am going to have my buddy soder it. If that doesn't work I am stumped

I went and sodered the wire, and it still isn't fully functional. What else could it be?

Use a butt connector. They look like a condom. If you go to a car audio shop, I'm sure they'd GIVE you one.

It's sodered alreadyy, and there a connector over that. I tested the connection with a volt tester and it is good. I have no idea what it could be, and I am almost ready to just go buy a aftermarket temp gauage if i don't figure this out soon. hmmm
