Texas laws re: wheel lights

Not sure if anyone else but me has wheel lights but I sent an email to our chief of police asking about them (no way do I want a ticket lol) and got this reply. Thought I'd post it in this board because I imagine laws are similar in other places too. My lights are blue and white, and supposed to be solid, but I imagine they look kind of like they are flashing so I'll either be changing them to green or doing away with them completely.

Wheel lights are lights that are affixed to the wheel of the vehicle and
project a colored light as the wheel rotates. There is no definitive law
regulating the use of these lights in Texas. However, state law does
prohibit the operation of a motor vehicle equipped with a red, white, or
blue beacon, flashing, or alternating lights.

Whether the lights are acceptable would depend on their color and how they
look when operating. If the lights are red, white or blue and appear to be
flashing, alternating or a beacon then they should be removed immediately.

Additionally, if the lights project a beam with an intensity brighter than
300 candlepower no part of the high-intensity portion of the beam should
strike the roadway at a distance of more than 75 feet from the vehicle.

Texas Transportation Code:
§547.305 RESTRICTIONS ON USE OF LIGHTS.

LOL, they actually look pretty good on my car, IMO. I had my mom drive it around a parking lot so I could see. I'm not that attatched to them, but I do like them. Maybe I will stick them on my old bike lol.

Generally, to my knowledge lighting as described in the first post is illegal in most states. Red lights on the front of your car, strobing or flashing lights, any blue lighting, etc is usually illegal on motor vehicles other than emergency vehicles.

:rice:

Police officers can ticket you for anything. Then it's up to the interpretation of the law by a judge. And we have some shitty judges.

It still might have been against the law. I have 20% window tint all around (plus the 20% visor). In Delaware 80: is legal. 20% is ALOT darker than 80%. I haven't even had it mentioned yet.

corner lights will not really matter...unless it's constantly flashing... i have red corners and red rear blinkers... cops told me get either amber, red, or hyper white
