The $150 Walmart radio turned out pretty decent

The 2000 SI I bought 2 weeks ago had the stock Honda radio but the display was broken (one vertical line of pixels was blank) and of course it couldn't play mp3's, etc. The local car radio shop didn't have anything I liked but when I was in the Walmart I found a budget Jenson radio in the clearance rack at $150. The car radio shop agreed to install it even though I purchased it elsewhere and they just put it in yesterday. The unit has a small LCD display and has a front mounted USB port, a hidden slot for an SD memory card and it even plays DVD's. Here are a couple pictures. It's certainly not a powerhouse but the sound is much better than the stock system even using the stock speakers. I'm pretty pleased with it.

Display in USB mode.

With the camera flash turned off.

With the front panel lowered you can see the CD/DVD slot and the SD card slot.

agreed. no need to spend a lot of $$ on a head unit unless you are planning to add a high dollar amp and speakers. my old kenwood is expensive and sounds great but i'm a little jealous of your usb port and sd slot.

Sounds like a good find. What's the model number?
