Apparently the by pass valve on my AEM intake exploded and sent pieces of foam into my throttle body and intake manifold. It's kinda ironic having the bpv send my car to the shop. Hopefully I can get some new goodies out of this... like a 70mm throttle body... or a b18c1... but I doubt it.

Can somebody tell me how much a OEM throttle body would cost? And would it make any significant power gains to add an aftermarket TB on a d16y8?

But yeah, if you can prove that it was a product malfunction im sure they will pick up the tab for ya too!! See what you can do.

aem is just a well known company, most of the parts are not the greatest parts. how did the by pass exploded? did the intake just suck so hard and broke it into little pieces?

As for the cost of a new throttle body, BBK makes a 70mm TB for the d16. It's $3oo. <<Click Me>>

I got my car back today. Only 1 day in the shop... not too bad. The rubber part of the BPV got stuck in the throttle body. So they only have to take that out and readjust the throttle cable. Oh yeah, they also fixed my annoying check engine light, it was throwing something like 6 error codes.
