I'm dying to do a B swap. But I'm figuring the budget and it's blowing my mind since it's not enough to just do a B swap....

So how much did you guys spend anyways?

- buy B16 engine for like $2000 or whatever
- have it cleaned up and installed for like $1500 or whatever?
- doesn't fit the EX tranny so get a Si one to fit?
- needs compatible intake so buy AEM cuz your D16 one won't fit
- needs compatible exhaust so buy a DC Sports cuz you might as well $300
- doesn't fit exhaust so buy Si compatible Apexi or whatever $550
- more powerful engine needs better shocks/brakes setup so buy a whole set of both... > $3000

That's like > $10k!!! Might as well sell my stockie and buy a 99 Si with 50k miles on it, eh?

it all depends on how much money you have. complete b16a2 swap can run you about 2k-$2.5k. engine, ecu, tranny axels, so on, and so on. if you can afford, i would get the b18c that is about $3k-$3.5k. installation is about $500. the ex and si exhaust are the same. im not sure about the cat though. supspension is almost same as ex. but the rear is disc, there are some ex with rear disc but they are rare. suspension for ex and si is not much difference. si may have little bit thicker sway bar. shocks and springs are the same.

add 300-500 to the price of the motor package if you're a manual tranny

add another 500 if its an AT

B20 is out of a CRV. You add a vtec head off of a b18 or a b16 to it to make it usefull.

if you want real power but there is gonna be alot more work involved id say go H22 (prelude) but you can get alot of power out of a b16 and then down the line get a 1.8block and throw that b16 tranny and head on it also down the line

if you wanna go the cheap route id say buy a b18b and turbo it 8)

I thought the B20 everyone was after was the JDM B20z since the B20b (CRV engine, USDM) was kinda lame. I could be on crack, but I thought I read that a few different places.

I agree
but the h22A would be the best swap, 220 hp stock, but its made in japan. would take alot to mod it to US ex

you lucky, you live in US. you can get all the parts needed, from some integra or so.
i can not get lot of needed parts, if i want to make a b series swap. i have already a B16 engine, if making a swap i would need 1300$ more to get it in - axles, tranny.... so i will buy me a `92 SiR - 2200$

800$ for rebuilt NSX brakes and H&K racing cup suspension. (Or go with the Legend brakes.. similar design to NSX)
And for the rest of that s**t, hit up the junkyard man!

its the most expensive... just subtract from that to do an obd1 swap or non-lsd whatev.

plus i just realized that in some states, Ek's can't put ODB1 in. Mainly thinking Cali. because you have to swap a same year or newer motor.
