Well guys i just picked up a 97 civic ek all original for 1300, with 450k car has been well taken care of, has stock clutch and literally nothing is wrong with this car besides thr headliner, oem all the way around and everything works and nothing is missing. Was wondering with that many miles u guys think i should rebuild the y8 or just let it be for the time being and see how many more miles can go on it lol

Id leave it unless its burning oil or something.

s**t, for that price i would just drive it until it blows up then throw a b series in it and drive it some more.

I would be more concerned with bushings and m/c and s**t like that than engine if it still runs.

Actually there is nothing wrong.with any of that stuff, only thing that concerns me is that the temp like to keep the needle right in the middle then drop back down then go right back up then it just stops lol. Car doesnt get hot tho, plus shift linkage is really tight like it was brand new, the interior has never been messed with well besides the headliner

450k, holy hell. Honestly, if it were me I would rebuild it just cause I like shiny new OEM parts lol. The engine may run fine now, but there could be something that's just waiting to go. At the very least I would do timing belt, water pump, and HG

He did go out of his way to tell me the timing belt was replaced a few thousand miles ago, but in time i guess plan on replacing stuff, so i know that the parts are new, and i was supprised when he said that many miles lol, if i had the money i would do a swap, i want to go k but parts would be to expensive might go lsv just not sure yet

I ran my DX for a long time waiting to decide what to do with it. Could have put a swap in it until I found some twisted parts and rust doing other work. Car hit 200k and I replaced the timing belt and water pump, decided to run it till it died and found something else. Point is, run it the way it is, keeping it running well and something may pop up.

I don't really think mileage on the car matters, My EG came with a swapped cluster so I have no idea how many miles is on the car/motor. Just do a compression test, If the motors strong than great if not than well that sucks, Suspension bushings ball joints etc you should be able to feel if they need replaced, And most of them you can just jack the car up and visually inspect all of the stuff, Timing belt etc you can just look at it and see if it needs replaced. I daily my civic and it drives like a brand new car except my LCA bushings need replaced now. Just replace stuff as it needs to be replaced and the car will do you right. If you don't replace what needs to be replaced than things just keep stacking up and your car will turn to s**t

Steering is still really tight, no play at all, doesnt even pull so i think i made a good purchase, but i know a honda can run forever if taken care of just wanted your guys opinions on if the half a million miles takes a toll on the car

Might be needing to sort out this starting issue, since the car turns over slowly thinking its the starter, also might need ball joints since when i turn really sharp its pops
