Thoughts on Alpine ida-x100

Looking at getting this for the mustang. No cd player, but i rarely listen to cd's anymore anyway.

Radio and ipod control are good enough for me.

Any thoughts? any problems?

Where would you hide the usb cable for the ipod connector though?

i have the model below this one from last year i think it is when alpine first came out w/ the full speed ipod headunits. Its fantastic. Definitely worth it. And Alpine is excellent quality, I have Alpine headunit, front and rear speakers, and mono and 4 channel amps its all fantastic. Definitely worth it if not for just the ipod usability.

i put mine in my glove box. u can also run it into ur center console if u have an armrest one (idk about mustangs), drill a hole for the cable and run it in there. that way it's hidden and there aren't prying eyes checkin out ur ipod setup.

had an alpine unit for like 8 years now... been in like 5 different cars. ive had to service it once (replace the springs that eject CDs in it). still works great.

as for the usb cable... glove box is easiest.

all my cars had alpine units before never had a problem wit b4.. i would c no problem wit dis one... im thinking of gettin the IVA - W205!!!!

I can't give up my CD's but that looks pretty sweet. If only it lit up red instead of blue.


Oh damn you don't have to use an Ipod with it you can use a portable harddrive....

ill let you know how it is , i just baught the head unit 2 days ago. its coming in the mail now.
there is a rear direct ipod plugin and usb under the face plate.
the whole section that is silver (left) PLUS the button detaches from the head unit for security.

i have the same deck but last years model its pretty awesome and customizable, you can actually change and download diffrent back rounds and if you have a civic si you can change the buttons to red. also i looked at the new dial and you have to push it in. I got the radio from crutchfield and you could make it work wit yur steering wheel just ask one of the tech guys i made sure i bought that.
