Sup guys, I just got a f**king ticket for "unsafe speed" I asked to see the gun the cop clocked me with and he said that he never saw my "actual speed" but that I was at least doing 75 in a 45, now without proof that I was actually speeding is there some way I can fight it and get it dismissed? Since when could cops tell you that your speed is unsafe when they don't even clock you?

there has to be an official record of your speed. if not, he shold have told u to slow down, not ticket you..

you can opt to go to court and plead not guilty and then they will give you another day and the cop will have to show up. A lot of the time they wont show up and you can get it dismissed and if he does than you can argue it there.

but theres a difference between him going 47 mph, and 75
75 counts as wreckless driving in my state (dunno bout ures) and thats a MAJOR offense...
take it to court, plead like u were going 46-50, just a lil over...u'll still get a ticket and prosecuted for speeding, but not wreckles.....its the lesser or two evils...
slow down from now on and u wont be in this situation...

not sure about texas but in louisiana there is a law that the cops can use as unsafe speeding. what is put on the tickets is accually excessive speeding and it will hold up in court. unfortunately louisiana does have some crap laws and never could get it straight but you never know the most it can cost you if you fight and lose is the cost of the ticket plus court costs which really aren't that expensive
