I got my belt for $38, but I have a shop hook-up, i think they're normally like $84 around here.

Changing a timing belt is sort of a pain in the ass. If you have a/c and p/s it'll definately take longer because those belts need to be removed along with the valve cover, the timing belt cover and a motor mount. Plus, if your s**t is rusted that adds to the headache.

If you've never done it before i suggest you have it done professionally. Watch out though, Honda charges like $500, but that includes parts and labor for all the belts.
Just remember, THE TIMING BELT IS VERY IMPORTANT, so get it done and get it done right. Good Luck!

Yeah it does. Im stuck in one part though. I can't get the damn pulley that needs to come of the one that is in the way of taking the timing belt of in the bottom. It is hard as hell. I can't get it to budge. Not even with a pressure gun. How did you get yours off BioHazard? Any hints?

ok I replace mine this week end and that knocking noise was the water pump, that s**t mest up all the seals around the cam and the crank gear it was spliting antifreeze and oil everywhere so I have all this done on saturday, and my mech charge me 250 including parts and labor
new water pump $50 brand new
timing belt $38
seals and gaskets $25
I think is not much since it was a lot of parts to be replaced.

it's definitely a good idea to replace the water pump each time you change the timing belt, esp. since (I'm told) you've gotta pull the pump to replace the t belt anyway.

Yeah I got it all done for $185. I put everything back together since I couldn't remove the bolt. Then took it to my local tech and got an estimate which was $185. I didn't replace the water pump though maybe I'll do that my self. Since the bolt shouldn't be that hard to remove if it needs to be removed I'll check it out. Thanks all for the info!

What are the other three belts for.? In my D16Z6, they're to the right and below the block. I think one is for the air conditioning. They're squealing and belt dressing doesn't seem to be effective anymore. Can anyone tell me what belts I'd need to buy and how much it might cost?
