Tranny noise??

So when I drive my car when I let out the clutch there is loud squeaking noise. When I'm in gear cruising and let off the gas the shift knob like moves forward and I hear the squeak noise again and then when I hit the gas and accelerate forward again the shifter moves backwards and it makes that noise again. Almost like the transmission is like moving. Not really sure what it is. Any ideas? It just started like a couple weeks ago it never did that for the past 5 months

Have you checked your motor mounts? Squeak at clutch release could be a bad throw out bearing.

Yeah but I don't think it's clutch related because it does when the clutch is out when I'm just driving thru town in 3rd gear just cruising everytime I left off the gas for like 2 seconds. I think motor mounts might be what it is because it feels like it is moving

If it is motor mounts what do you recommend for mounts to get? It's a completely stock y8. Just my Low N Slow DD

OEM or similar. Polyeurethane will lock down the movement more, but will also likely trnsfer more vibration to the frame (with a y8, should be balanced better than the y7, at least)
also, don't forget the vibration mounts near the frame rails

Where is the best place to buy some? I don't care about vibration and stuff a whole lot as long as they don't squeak and as long as there isn't too much movement and something that isn't gonna go bad in a year

If it's your DD, you will care about vibration.

Hasport makes OEM replacement mounts that are a bit better than OEM, from what I recall, and they don't vibrate much, if at all.

I think the GSR is the only 3 bolt engine. They are talking about the studs/nuts next to the timing cover.

and the vibration mounts, can get off any Honda parts website, or even ebay. I think Energy Suspension and Prothane make replacements as well
