Trouble deciding what to do....

I recently got my hands on a 92 cx hatch and i know i want to swap and motor into it. I also know that i want it to be boosted. Know this is were it gets difficult! i would like ur opinions on what i should to. should i go with a sohc turbo, prolly a y8 block with a a6 or z6 head? or should i go with the ls/vtec turbo? now my budget is under 3 grand and i am looking to get 250-300 whp. But i also would like it to be reliable because it is my dd. if anyone could help lemme know wat u think! thanx alot.

why not just do a full Y8 or full a6?

idk, i was reading somewhere on d-series.com and they were saying the the y8 block is the stongest and best sohc for boost, but that the head didnt have the best flow. so to counter that they were doin the a6 or z6 head and were putting down some impressive numbers!

i belive the z6 is better for boost.

and i think you mean d-series.org

d15b motor, z6 trans, turbo

best bang for your buck :thumbs up

but if you want closer to 300hp, LS + turbo is the way to go

I heard parts were hard to come by for the d15? and really expensive? is there any truth to this? and what the reasoning behind gettin the z6 trans? better gearing or just capable of holding more power?

ls turbo can get you to 300whp for about 3000 grand

only thing hard to find are OEM pistons. the rods are the same as the z6.

z6 trans because thats about the best hydro d trans for boost
