Yep, Anf's old avy. It's like you're wearing someone's face from last year or something. I hate when people reuse old avatars. :-/ Go steal them off other sites. :P

It is an auto-spastic and getting a Japanese market car registered in the US is often more expensive than a much better USDM car would be.

...but it's your money

it's not the emissions you have to worry about.

you'll need exemptions for not having side intrusion beams, adequate supplemental restraints, etc... which IMO is stupid because you can put JDM doors and steering wheels on USDM cars and have no problems registering your car.

Trust me. It's easier to get a "grey market" Porsche from Germany registered than it is to get anything Japanese registered.

Although you could import it to Canada or Mexico, register it there, then import it and register it to the US. My friend has a GMC Tracker (that's right! GMC) he brought down from Canada and got it registered easily. I know another guy who has a Mexican Ramcharger (current body style Ram pickup with a Tahoe style back) that's registered in the US but he had emissions issues.

Well... they did an article about it in Honda Tuning Magazine a couple of months back I think. Takes alot of money if the car is even on the DOT list to be able to import the thing in. You could probably buy 3 or 4 brand new SI's for what it would cost to get anything JDM in if it was on the list. Canada or Mexico is the way to go if you have the money for it and some relatives or something that lived there.
