i heard that you can lower the compr. jst by geting a thicker head gasked is this truE or False ??

yeah, it's true but if your boosting, you'll more in likely get a blown head gasket. Well...depends

Cometic makes some thick gaskets :thumbs up

add some ARP headstuds and you shouldnt have a problem

youll only blow the headgasket if your head lifts under boost. headstuds will prevent it from lifting

thnks for all the info so this is not a very good way to lower the compr. am only shooting for 180-190whp so am not planing on building internals

thats what i was thinking, wouldnt it have to be really thick to make much of a difference?

i concur, for the d series cometic thick HG and def get some arp head studs.

yeah it does make a big difference, compression is compression. it doesnt matter if you used pistons to lower it or got a thicker headgasket.

will lower compression significantly drop low-end power... Im gearing my setup mainly for auto-x, and need the low, mid-range power to get the car out of the corners...

I spool at 200rpm now, but lower compression might make me spool later ??

keep it in a lower gear. most of the auto-x events ive seen the motors are running pretty high revs throughout the whole course.

if you are spooling at 2k, i dont see why you would be out of boost much during the whole thing

Our local events are a Super tight track... and speeds top out at 35-40mph (you'll never see 3rd gear, first just spins out, and second is at low rpm coming out of a tight turn.)

you shouldnt notice much spool difference even with lower compression

So this HG is not such a bad idea IF i get new head studs any good places to get the HG and The Studs

9.12-8.5 Sounds preaty good to me

plz keep in maind that this is a low budget Turbo!!!!!

Ok is not that bad, am all in for good parts i jst dont want to drop 800$ on internals on a D am building this to see how i like turbo and if i enjoy it GSR-T here i come !!!!!! and then i'll be more than happy to spend all that $$$

i really dont expect the motor to last more than 6-8months not that i drive hard but am planing on pushing 10psi on a 135xxxd16z6 its getting a really good tune i'll be pushing the D to the max STOCK

get my idea lol
