thats what i was thinking, wouldnt it have to be really thick to make much of a difference?bcivichb said:im pretty sure it doesnt make a big difference anyway

add some ARP headstuds and you shouldnt have a problem
yeah it does make a big difference, compression is compression. it doesnt matter if you used pistons to lower it or got a thicker headgasket.bcivichb said:im pretty sure it doesnt make a big difference anyway
thats a pretty beefy differencehybrdthry911 said:a cometic .076in HG drops compression from ~9.12 to ~8.5
keep it in a lower gear. most of the auto-x events ive seen the motors are running pretty high revs throughout the whole course.Stinky said:will lower compression significantly drop low-end power... Im gearing my setup mainly for auto-x, and need the low, mid-range power to get the car out of the corners...
you shouldnt notice much spool difference even with lower compressionStinky said:well... it spools at 2k right now, but will it still after lower compression.
Our local events are a Super tight track... and speeds top out at 35-40mph (you'll never see 3rd gear, first just spins out, and second is at low rpm coming out of a tight turn.)
one of my runs from last season:
